Because our club's charter is limited to Colorado, we accept rescue applications from people that reside within the state of Colorado. If you are from another state and have interest in adopting, please contact the national rescue group through The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America; attn: Nancy Butler. Get more information here
Complete the form below if you are interested in adopting a rescued Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Once your completed application is received, it will be reviewed and one of the co-chairpersons will contact you to complete any missing information.
When a Wheaten is rescued, it spends time being evaluated and completing a number of medical checks. When it is ready to be adopted, we will match the dog to our list of applicants and start notifying people of a dog's availability for adoption.
A full Adoption Contract will need to be filled out and signed during the adoption process.
View a sample adoption contract here.
Fees: The cost to adopt (due upon receipt of placement contract) is:
- $300 adoption fee, vet. expenses & rescue donation for dogs up to 6 years of age
- $200 adoption fee, vet. fees, & rescue donation for dogs 6 years and older.
If we need to ship the dog to you, you will also need to purchase a crate and cover shipping fees. Please make checks payable to GDSCWTC Rescue.
In some cases our rescue efforts will be limited to helping make direct connection between our adoption applicants and those with dogs to relinquish.
This form will be active for 90 days, after that period you may submit a new application.
